I swear that I’ve got the best of intentions…

I really do, even though I’m an established Huge! Bum! who has been wasting day after day of basically free time from wake-up until work.

Anyway, I’ve decided to start chronicling my Quest for Better Health here on the website, since it seems to add a level of pressure that makes me get off of my arse and actually DO things. (Who knew?) I haven’t decided on details, yet, but I wanted to ask: What do you do to relieve stress and/or stay healthy?

I’m going to love you for any answer you give, so pleaseplease keep ‘em coming! :)

  1. Ahh… stress and I are good companions. Mostly because I tend to be neurotic about many things. Some things that really help:

    -Hot bath. It sounds simple, but the soothing effects of warm water on skin and tight muscles can work wonders. It forces you to sit for a little bit, slows down your adrenaline and lets you have that ‘ahh’ moment. If you do it before bed, you can usually expect to fall to sleep pretty quickly too, which is a nice perk for insomniacs like us. ;)

    -Walks. I’ve noticed that you’re fond of those, in your pictures. Keep it up. Walking is a simple, cost effective way to stay healthy. It releases those endorphins, makes you feel fresh and alive, while getting that blood circulating. It’s not hard to do and usually, after a brisk walk through autumn trees, I want to dance and sing home.

    -Books/Music. There’s nothing like getting lost for a while. Life is tough and there’s nothing wrong with escapism. It’s refreshing to live someone else’s life/emotions for a while. So indulge. I know you’ve got school, but you need to do some pleasure reading or you’ll start to hate books.

    Wii Fit! I swear! ha-ha, I absolutely love it. It has strength traning and yoga. It’s great. Dom and I are going to start walking in the morning and slowly progress to running. miss you!
